Wishing a Happy New Year While Hoping to Be Seen and Remembered
I came here to wish everyone a happy new year.

But I also came to share something from my heart. Sometimes, I feel sad because people walk past me and pretend not to see me—as if I don’t matter. As if my presence is easy to ignore. And even though my heart is small, it feels that pain deeply.
It hurts when kindness is missing. It hurts when a smile isn’t returned or when someone looks right through you. Those moments stay longer than people realize.
Even so, I keep choosing to wish good things for others. Because I believe that everything we wish for comes back to us in some way. So I wish love to those who may have forgotten how to give it. I wish affection to those who are tired. I wish respect to everyone, no matter who they are or where they come from.
And today, I ask for something small.
If you’ve read this far, please leave a kind word for me too. A simple message. A gentle thought. Something that reminds me that I’m seen and that I matter.
As this new year begins, I hope it brings more warmth, more understanding, and more hearts willing to look at one another with care.
Happy New Year. May we all be a little kinder—and a little more present—for each other.
